Desktop Support / Systems Administrator

Job Title: Desktop Support / Systems Administrator
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Department: IT
Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Reports to: Manager of Information Technology

Ooma is seeking a responsible support tech to join our IT team to help support our ever-growing Employee base. Duties include general Desktop support, Windows System Administration, Racking and Stacking Data Center equipment, as well as General User support.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the hardware and software environment supported
  • Installation of desktop PC’s, printers, and application software
  • Provide solutions to software, hardware, or configuration problems that arise in the desktop environment
  • Fully participate in managing daily activities using the RT ticketing system and assisting other groups, and other IT personnel as necessary
  • Help with racking and stacking of systems in the Data Center
  • Ordering of new equipment, servers, devices, etc. as needed from various vendors
  • On Boarding and Termination of employee accounts as directed,
  • Configuration of laptop, desktops, etc. as needed
  • Working with Azure AD for SSO (single Sign on) access for various tools
  • Media room support (Conference rooms, Zoom room, etc.)
  • Some after hours/on Call duty
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient performance of their support duties

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • least 5 years of IT experience
  • A thorough knowledge and practical experience in updating, configuring and troubleshooting PC operating systems, Windows and Mac
  • Technically proficient in updating, configuring and troubleshooting a diverse PC application environment that includes but is not limited to the Microsoft suite of products (O365 and Azure AD familiarity recommended)
  • Familiar with Linux systems, VM systems, Networking protocals
  • Familiar with use of remote control software for support and maintenance
  • Great soft skills, customer service focus, and are able to maintain a high level of client satisfaction through effective communication and prompt resolution
  • Must demonstrate the ability ‘wear many hats’ and possess the mentality to ‘jump in and help’ when needed
