Can somebody answer this question, Please?

Hi, I was interested to purchase Ooma Core from amazon.com but before doing that i have a question,
If i buy the core unit today (oct. 30, 2009) do i need to pay RECOVER FEE after the 2nd year or is it going to be free for life? Please make sure your answer in correct before you answer it. Because it looks like nobody knows exactly the answer to this question!! Or answer it truthfully??!
(I have heard if i buy the mentioned unit before jan 1, 2010 i will be ok and Another person says i should have bought it before oct. 01 2009) Which is correct?
I know recoery fee is $12.00 a year. I rather not pay because it might get higher without any notice.

Thank you.

If you buy the core unit today,as long as the place you are buying from (like Amazon) has the CORE unit in stock, you will not be paying the Regulatory Recovery Fee. Basically, ooma's policy is what the box says is what you get. I bought a core unit about 1 week ago from Amazon as well, so I know for a fact that you get FULL caller id (new telos only get caller-id number in the basic package) and here is NO RRF. Get the core while places still have it in stock - once they are all sold out, you have to pay the RRF! So get it while you can. :!:

Let me know if you have any more questions. You can PM me.

i have a question

My premier expires on March 2010.

Do I have to renew before Dec. 2009 to get it at $99 for another year?

Know what I mean?

My understanding is YES - prior to 12/09 to avoid increase. Even though that is not "Grandfathering" the rate as first described.

I activated Scout/Hub on 08/25/09 with 6 month Premier trial.
I wanted to port from Vonage ASAP so I went ahead and did an additional year - then I heard about LIFETIME Premier. I paid Vonage at least $2,000.00 while a customer!!!
I upgraded to Telo (transfer so it grandfathered TOS).

The Lifetime Includes:
Porting or Telo Handset (either $39.99 or $49.99 value)
Extension of warranty to 3 years ($79.98 value)

Paul at Ooma assisted me - GREAT guy!
Credited back my $99.99 and I paid $39.99 for the port so a net credit of $60.00.

LIFETIME:
$349.99 One-Time Cost
- $60.00 refund
- $49.99 Handset
- $79.98 3-year warranty on Telo
- $60.00 saving on price increase 3-year
= $100.02 (Averaging on the 3-years that is $33.34/year - that can't be beat). After that all "profit"...

To me Lifetime makes sense.

I think it may depend on whether you are already into that year you paid for or still in a trial situation.

Just call and ask - worst they can say is no.... :)

Since you put it in a such convincing way as being a "makes sens deal"; I too pulled the trigger this weekend ( my trial expires in 10 days).
The only hurdle was about getting the Telo handset: she thought it was only for annual Premier purchase; and when I told her your "saga".... she checked with higher up and was okay 'd . I hope that I will get it!
Did you get anything in writing/email stating you will get the handset when it becomes available?
Nothing yet on my side... Only my ooma account says this:
Your service level is: Premier, Lifetime Subscription.

This sucks. Just called to upgrade to lifetime and was told there was no telo, port or 3 year warranty included. I was told nothing was included with lifetime. Any help would be nice
