Thank you again for being an Ooma customer.
Until later,
Team Ooma

When I made my decision to purchase several months ago, it was with the knowledge that someday, there would be additional fees. I took a leap of faith much like when I purchased a Tivo when they first came out.
The Ooma already paid for itself and it works well so I’m happy. I hope that there will be a trade-up program of sorts like Tivo offers so that I can get new hardware and transfer my grandfathered services.
I’m on the fence about moving voicemail to the premier package for new customers. I don’t use it but it seems like a part of the core package.
I think directory assistance should be included with premiere or at least some number free (5?) before charging.
I pay more for Tivo because it’s worth it to me versus the cable company’s DVR. Ooma is still cheaper than traditional phone service and provides options they can’t.
Besides, all traditional telcos are pure evil and unworthy of my money.
I purchased two ooma hubs over a month ago as Christmas presents based on ooma’s advertising of free phone service. Both of these hubs were unactivated and now I cannot return them to get my money back.
Hopefully ooma will grandfather those of us who purchased hubs before the Oct 1 date under the old terms and conditions to avoid unhappy customers or even worse FCC/FTC complaints or lawsuits regarding the abrupt change in its terms and conditions.
I was seriously considering purchasing an Ooma Hub, but the requirement for the price-increased Premier service for both VM and CallerID is a deal-breaker.
Bait and switch? I got an ooma hub just a month ago thinking voicemail would be included in perpetuity even without Premier. Am I interpreting it correctly that ooma is *removing* a standard feature (voicemail) if I don’t subscribe to Premier?
I see a lot of questions, but no answers. I did not realize minute limitations existed with ooma. What were they? Is this still better than other VOIP options?
i called up OOMA customer service and was told that basic voicemail (voicemail on the hub) is still free and only enhanced voicemail (access to voicemail on the web and from other phones) is part of Premier. Can anyone confirm that?
Look, whining people. You can still dump the phone company and the monthly bills. Just use a ding-dang home phone that has an answering machine. Now you got voice mail. And if you use a wireless one with satellite phones, you got multiple phones with no Scouts required. Whaddya want, Ooma to pay off your mortgage, too?
Existing Ooma Core customers will increased your minutes of residential,
domestic calling to 5,000 minutes per month.
What happen to Unlimited US calling?
The main reason I bought ooma was to rid the phone bills. This info doesn’t bother me because I don’t need the VM or the Premier service. I had thought the residential, domestic calling to was unlimited previously. Curious what it was increased from to 5,000 min per month. I already spent my $200 ooma. Stop trying to sell me stuff.
Wow – it looks like Ooma is turning into the same kind of company that they claim to be replacing.
Monthly fees, annual plans, what used to be free is now ‘bundled’ with fee-based plans…where does it end?
Let’s see – If try to replace my current landline, what’s it cost?
Telo = $250.00 (plus tax and/or shipping)
Premier = $120.00
Port a second number = $40
Annual Taxes and fees = $12.00 (for now)
Total = $422.00 upfront, $132.00 annually (for now)
Sweet!, I just spoke Hannah at OOMA tech Support and They will honor the previous TOS if you sign-up or upgrade to the premier byl Oct 31st. This means I can sign up for the premier service for $99/year as I was on a trial. Hopefully they notify people via email or their lounge.
Before any change please, notify your clients 30 days in advance –
Thanks.
I was wonderging when does ooma will have unlimited internationall calling for monthly fee starting at $ 9.99. That would be cool for foreigners living in usa.
